To promote vegetable and flower cultivation inside greenhouses, 50% to 80% of the total cost is provided as assistance for fan and pad systems, naturally ventilated polyhouses, and planting materials. The details are given below:
Under the State Sector, an additional 25% subsidy is provided as the State share, making the total subsidy 75%.
Plastic mulching:To retain moisture and promote microflora around the roots, 50% of the total cost is provided for covering the land with plastic sheets.
Arrangement of planting material for protected cultivation:Planting materials under polyhouse cultivation (flower and vegetable seeds) are provided at a 50% subsidy. If the farmer purchases them from outside agencies (other than the department), 50% of the cost is reimbursed.
Support for greenhouse construction is available for an area of up to 4,000 sq. meters or 500 sq. meters as per the guidelines issued by the Government of India and the State Government. For a 500 sq. meter polyhouse, the State Government provides an additional 30% subsidy, allowing the farmer to receive a total subsidy of 80%.
