Details

The Central Police Forces (CPF) personnel often face challenging service conditions, which can sometimes mean less time for family and children's education. To help ease this burden and encourage higher studies, the government introduced the Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme for the Wards/Widows of Central Police Force Personnel. This initiative aims to provide financial support for technical and professional education, ensuring that the children of these brave personnel can pursue their dreams.

What Is This Scheme?

Launched in the academic year 2006-07 by the Ministry of Home Affairs, this scholarship scheme is funded by the National Defence Fund. It offers financial assistance to the wards and widows of Central Police Force (CPF) personnel. The goal is to promote advanced education in fields like engineering, medicine, IT, and other technical areas.

Who Can Benefit From This Scheme?

The scheme is designed for specific groups: wards and widows of CPF personnel who died while on duty, wards of CPF personnel who were disabled during service, wards of those who received Gallantry Awards, and wards or widows of ex-CPF personnel or in-service personnel up to the rank of Subedar Major/Inspector.

Why This Scheme Is Important

Recognizing the demanding nature of service in the CPF, this scheme ensures that the sacrifices of the personnel do not hinder the educational aspirations of their families.
