Details

Are you a worker in the Beedi, Cine, or specific mining sectors? Do you want financial support for your child's education? The Ministry of Labour and Employment has a scheme that could help.

What Is This Scheme?

This is a scholarship program designed to provide financial assistance for the education of children whose parents work in specific industries. These include Beedi making, Iron Ore Mines, Manganese Ore & Chrome Ore Mines (IOMC), Limestone & Dolomite Mines (LSDM), and Cine industries. The financial aid can range from ₹1,000 to ₹25,000 per student each year.

Who Can Benefit From This Scheme?

The scheme is for the wards (children) of workers who have been employed in the Beedi, IOMC, LSDM, or Cine sectors for at least six months. This also covers contract and home-based workers in these fields. The education support is available for students pursuing general or technical education, including medical, engineering, and agricultural studies, in recognized institutions across India.

Why This Scheme Is Important

This initiative aims to ease the financial burden on workers' families, ensuring that children from these sectors have access to quality education. By providing timely financial assistance, it helps students continue their studies and pursue their career goals without their parents' occupation being a barrier.
