    Eligibility Criteria

    1. Applicants must be permanent residents (bonafide natives) of Uttar Pradesh.
    2. Athletes must have been members of the state senior team for at least three consecutive years (e.g., 2019-20, 2020-21 & 2021-22) and participated in National Games or National Senior Championships during these years. They must also have won a medal in the year for which the award is recommended.
    3. Participation in international competitions like the Olympic Games, World Championship/World Cup, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, Asian Championship, Commonwealth Championship, or SAF Games will also make a player eligible.
    4. Applicants must submit an affidavit confirming they have never been involved in or found guilty of consuming drugs during any competition or sports event.
    5. Applicants must also submit an affidavit stating they have never been found guilty in any court case or in connection with sexual harassment.
    6. The award is presented to male and female sportspersons in 31 sports disciplines, including Swimming, Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Canoeing & Kayaking, Cycling, Horse Riding, Fencing, Football, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Rowing, Shooting, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Volleyball, Weightlifting/Best Physique, Wrestling, Taekwondo, Yachting, Golf, Cricket, Soft Tennis, Karate, and Wushu.
    7. An individual can receive this award only once.
    8. The Government reserves the right to cancel an awardee's name and demand the return of the statue and inscription. Such cancellation decisions are final and cannot be appealed.
    9. Any attempt to lobby or unduly influence the recommendation process will disqualify the entry.
    10. Participation solely in National Senior Championships or National Games does not automatically make an athlete eligible for this award if other conditions are not met.
