Looking to enhance your skills in the coir industry or start your own coir business? The 'Skill Upgradation and Mahila Coir Yojana' is here to help! This initiative, a part of the larger 'Coir Vikas Yojana', is designed to empower coir workers and entrepreneurs across India.
This scheme is actually made up of two important parts: 'Skill Upgradation' and 'Mahila Coir Yojana'. It's all about making the coir industry stronger by training people, encouraging new businesses, and helping women artisans get ahead. The goal is to bring modern techniques and better management practices to the coir sector.
The scheme is primarily for coir workers and aspiring entrepreneurs. Special focus is given to rural women artisans through the Mahila Coir Yojana, offering them dedicated training and support to set up their own coir processing units.
It plays a crucial role in creating skilled manpower for the coir industry. By providing training in spinning, weaving, and making value-added coir products, the scheme helps individuals earn better livelihoods. For women, it opens doors to self-employment and financial independence, fostering entrepreneurship and strengthening the rural economy.
