Applicants must be an Indian steel company, team, or individual, depending on the specific award category.

Eligibility for Company and Team Categories

(This applies to Efficiency Award, Export Award, Sustainability Award, Indigenization Award, Innovation Through Research and Development Award, and Safety Award)

The applicant must be an Indian Steel Company or Team, whether it's a Public Sector Undertaking or a Private Sector entity.
Applicants will be categorized based on their crude steel production capacity:

Large Scale Producers: Production capacity exceeding 1 Million Tonnes Per Annum.
Secondary Steel Producers: Production capacity less than 1 Million Tonnes Per Annum.

Exceptional Contribution Award

Applicants must be a citizen of India.
A Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or an equivalent qualification is required.
The applicant must have made a significant and transformative contribution to the Indian steel sector. This could be through pioneering research, developing new technology, advocating for policies, leading the industry, or offering lifetime service.
The impact of the contribution should be clearly demonstrable within the last 10 years.
The applicant's age should be between 25 and 60 years.
