    Eligibility Criteria

    1. Your institution must be an educational body at the higher secondary, college, or university level.
    2. The Tiatr script submitted should either be brand new or selected from works by well-known Tiatr writers.
    3. Your Tiatr must follow the traditional format, featuring 6 to 7 acts and at least 4 'cantos'.
    4. The performance must include comedy that is integrated with the play's storyline.
    5. Your Tiatr needs to feature at least 8 'kantaram' (songs), including interactive versions of 1 duet, 1 duo, 1 trio, and 1 quartet/quintet, along with 1 choral song and solos.
    6. The script you choose should not have been performed more than 2 times before the competition.

    1. Submit a complete typed copy of the Tiatr script and the typed lyrics of the 'kantaram' along with your application.
    2. Along with the application, you must also submit a refundable security deposit of ₹3,000/-. This can be paid in cash or by Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Member Secretary, Tiatr Academy of Goa, payable at Panaji.
    3. Three days before the competition begins, you are required to submit the final typed copy of the script, typed copy of the songs (kantaram), the list of cast members, a summary of the songs, and a list of all artistes including technicians and backstage crew.

    The Tiatr script can be either a new creation or one published by established Tiatr writers. Crucially, the script you choose should not have been performed more than 2 times before you present it in this competition.

    Can you explain the prize categories for individual performers and if they involve cash rewards?

    Awards are given in the form of mementos and certificates, not cash prizes. These are for Individual Artistes Acting (1st and 2nd prizes for both male and female), Best Comedian (male and female), and Best Singer Solo (1st and 2nd prizes for male and female).

    What are the penalties if I have to withdraw my application after the schedule is announced?

    If an institution withdraws its participation after the Tiatr Academy of Goa has finalized the schedule, their entire security deposit will be forfeited. Also, if a Tiatr is disqualified for featuring adverse content, the academy may recall any payments made.

    How long should my tiatr performance be, and what are the guidelines for the interval?

    Your tiatr performance should be between 2 and 3 hours in total duration. This includes an interval that must be a minimum of 10 minutes and a maximum of 15 minutes long.

    What specific number of acts and musical elements are required for a tiatr to qualify?
