What's the minimum number of Konkani songs an album needs to be eligible?
To be considered, your album must contain at least 8 Konkani kantaram (songs). This applies to Audio Compact Discs, Video Compact Discs, Digital Versatile Discs, and Digital Albums.
Can my album include songs in languages other than Konkani, like English or Hindi?
No, only albums featuring songs exclusively in the Konkani language are eligible. Albums with songs in English, Hindi, Portuguese, or any other language will not be accepted.
What is the prize money for the 'Best Konkani Kantaram Audio Album of the Year'?
The winner of the 'Best Konkani Kantaram Audio Album of the Year' award receives a substantial cash prize of ₹30,000/-.
Does the music director need to be from Goa?
Yes, it's mandatory for the music director of the submitted album to be a Goan or of Goan origin for the album to be eligible.
What are the age limits for the child singer awards?
To qualify for the child singer categories, participants must be under 16 years of age as of December 31st of the year the Tiatr Academy of Goa has designated.
How many CDs should I submit with my application?
You need to submit four copies of your Audio Compact Discs along with your application to the Tiatr Academy of Goa.
What documents can prove a child singer's age?
For child singers, you can submit self-attested copies of their Birth Certificate or Baptism Certificate. Additionally, a certificate from their school's Headmaster/Headmistress verifying the birth date is required, with the original to be presented for verification.
Are remixed old songs or older Konkani songs allowed in the album?
No, the scheme specifically requires original compositions. Albums containing old songs or remixes of previously released Konkani songs are not eligible for these awards.
When do the albums need to be released to be eligible for awards for a specific year?
Albums must be produced between January 1st and December 31st of the year specified by the Tiatr Academy of Goa to be eligible for that year's awards.
How much prize money do solo male and female singers get?
Both the Male Singer of the Year (Solo) and the Female Singer of the Year (Solo) are awarded ₹10,000/- each. For child singers, the Child Male Singer and Child Female Singer categories each receive ₹5,000/-.
What are the specific requirements for an album to win the 'Best Album' award?
To be considered for the Best Album award, an album must feature at least 5 kantaram from specific categories: one solo, one duet (with interactive lyrics), one duo (with interactive lyrics), one trio (with interactive lyrics), one quartet/quintet (with interactive lyrics), and one choral song. Interactive lyrics are a must for group categories.
Can lyrics or performances be critical of governments or institutions?
Absolutely not. The lyrics, performances, or any speeches in the album must not contain any adverse remarks against governments, individuals, institutions, or any caste, creed, or religion. Such content could lead to disqualification.
How many entries are needed per category to make it competitive?
For a category to be considered in the competition, there must be a minimum of three entries submitted for that particular category.
What format is required for submitting lyrics for the Lyricist award?
If you're applying for the Best Lyricist Award, you need to submit three typed copies of the lyrics for three different songs. These should be in Konkani, written using the Roman Script, and attached separately with your application.
