Details

Thinking of earning extra income while sharing your home with visitors? The Andaman & Nicobar Administration, following national guidelines, has a scheme that can help you do just that. It's all about providing tourists with a comfortable stay and a chance to experience the unique culture of the islands.

What Is This Scheme?

The Andaman & Nicobar Bed & Breakfast/Homestay Scheme, inspired by the Ministry of Tourism's 'Incredible India Bed & Breakfast/Homestay Establishment' initiative, allows you to offer quality accommodation to both Indian and foreign tourists. The core idea is to let tourists stay with local families, giving them a taste of Indian customs, traditions, and authentic cuisine.

Who Can Benefit From This Scheme?

If you own property in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and are willing to use a part of it to host guests, this scheme is for you. Whether you own the property outright or have a rental/lease agreement, you can register your space as a Bed & Breakfast or Homestay establishment.

Why This Scheme Is Important

The scheme serves a dual purpose: it enhances the accommodation options available for tourists visiting the islands, ensuring they have clean, affordable, and quality places to stay. Simultaneously, it provides an opportunity for residents to supplement their income and engage with visitors, promoting the rich local culture and traditions of Andaman & Nicobar.
