Rave Party Busted in Pune’s Kharadi: NCP Leader Rohini Khadse’s Husband Among 7 Held
In a high-profile late-night operation, Pune Police raided a rave party in the upscale Kharadi area, exposing a drug-fueled gathering disguised as a private house party. Among the seven individuals detained was Pranjal Khewalkar, husband of NCP leader Rohini Khadse and son-in-law of veteran politician Eknath Khadse.

Drugs, Hookahs, and Alcohol Found
The rave party was hosted in a flat inside a lodge in Kharadi. Following a tip-off, Pune Police swiftly moved in and detained five men and two women. Authorities seized narcotics, hookahs, and alcohol at the scene. It was confirmed that attendees were actively consuming drugs, smoking hookah, and drinking alcohol during the party.
Political Fallout
Khewalkar's connection to two major political figures-Rohini and Eknath Khadse-has intensified the political ramifications of the raid. All detainees, including Khewalkar, have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The investigation is ongoing, and police have indicated that more names may surface as the probe widens.
A Growing Trend in Pune
This incident reflects a growing trend of illegal rave parties in Pune's posh neighbourhoods. Authorities are alarmed by the rising number of such cases, often involving influential individuals and drug abuse. The bust has sparked public concern over law enforcement, political accountability, and public safety.
Pune Police have assured a thorough investigation, aiming to identify drug suppliers and dismantle any illegal networks behind the event. The community remains watchful as more details emerge in this high-profile drug case.
According to IE quoting Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar as saying that Pranjal Khewalkar is currently detained and will soon be formally arrested. "The process for his arrest is underway. He will be arrested," Kumar told The Indian Express.
A thorough panchnama (site inventory) of the location is being conducted. As per officials, no formal arrests have been made yet, but all seven individuals remain in custody for questioning.
