Pune Crime: Property Dealer Shot On Head, Attacked With Knife At A Restaurant

In a terrifying incident, unidentified attackers killed a 32-year-old man in Pune's eatery and its CCTV video created a buzz on the internet on Sunday. The CCTV video showed some people sitting and eating their meal in a restaurant, and suddenly two men entered the place and one of them, wearing a black t-shirt, pointed out gun and shot a man dead.

Soon after the gunshot sound, 5-6 other people entered the restaurant with batons and hockey sticks and started beating the rest of the people who were sitting at the same table.

The gunshot created panic among the other people who were present at the eatery. The video shows a woman running out of the restaurant with her daughter.

After the incident, the restaurant staff informed the police about the saddening and shocking incident. Later, the deceased was identified as Avinash Dhanve, a property dealer, who went to Hotel Jagdamba on the Pune-Solapur National Highway in Indapur with his three friends when the unfortunate incident happened.

The police have lodged a case against unidentified assailants and a probe has been launched. However, the reason for murder is yet to be discovered. The police have also collected CCTV footage from the restaurant and are trying to scan and catch the attackers.

Some media reports claimed that the property dealer was involved in a rivalry with a few people and it is a case of gang war killing.

In another crime incident in Pune, a man killed his wife and daughter and surrendered to the Police on March 16. The incident took place at the Lake Vista Society in Datta Nagar, Ambegaon following financial issues in the family.

The reports said the accused slit his daughters and hand and attacked his wife when she was sleeping. Taking cognizance of the crime, the Police registered the case and launched a probe to discover the exact reason behind the crime.
