India-Cuba Business Conference Strengthens Economic and Strategic Partnerships
The India-Cuba Business Conference held in New Delhi marked a significant step toward strengthening economic, trade, and diplomatic ties between the two nations. Organized by the Indian Economic Trade Organization (IETO), the event brought together high-ranking officials, business leaders, and industry experts from both countries, aiming to foster collaboration in key sectors such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, renewable energy, education, and trade.
The event witnessed the esteemed presence of H.E. Dr. Eduardo Martinez Diaz, Deputy Prime Minister of Cuba; H.E. Juan Carlos Marsan Aguilera, Ambassador of Cuba to India; and Adv. K.G. Anil Kumar, CMD of ICL Fincorp Limited and Goodwill Ambassador for the Latin American Caribbean Council. Also in attendance were Dr. Asif Iqbal, Global President of IETO, and Dr. Sanjay Mishra from the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. The gathering also welcomed senior officials from Cuba's Ministry of Science and Biotechnology, along with key representatives from industries spanning healthcare, agriculture, tourism, and energy.

Addressing the gathering, H.E. Dr. Eduardo Martinez Diaz emphasized the historical bonds between India and Cuba and the immense potential for economic collaboration. Dr. Sanjay Mishra highlighted the immense potential for collaboration in biomedical research, vaccine development, and biotechnology-based solutions: "Cuba's advancements in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals are globally recognized. The Indian Economic Trade Organization (IETO) has been instrumental in expanding India-Cuba trade relations by opening multiple trade offices with the support of the Cuban Embassy to facilitate business collaborations. Dr. Asif Iqbal emphasized IETO's commitment to fostering strategic partnerships: "Cuba presents a wealth of opportunities for Indian businesses in pharmaceuticals, biotech, and energy."
