Bihar Cabinet Expansion: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who was sworn in as Bihar's Chief Minister for the ninth time last week with the support of BJP, assigned portfolios to his Cabinet ministers on Saturday. According to the reports, Nitish Kumar retained the state Home Ministry and gave nine ministries to BJP's Samrat Chaudhary, including the Ministry of Finance.
Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha also bagged nine ministries including Agriculture and Road Construction.

Prem Kumar, a senior BJP leader and the third BJP representative in the recently formed nine-member cabinet, has been assigned portfolios including cooperatives, OBC, and Extremely Backward Classes Welfare, disaster management, tourism, and environment and climate change.
JD(U) leader Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, while retaining parliamentary affairs, has also been given responsibilities for water resources, transport, building construction, education, and the information and public resources department.
Bijendra Yadav, a veteran JD(U) leader credited by Kumar for transforming the state's power sector, continues to oversee the power department and has additionally been assigned excise and prohibition, planning and development, rural works, and minority welfare.
JD(U) leader Shravan Kumar, in addition to retaining rural welfare, has taken on responsibilities for social welfare and food and consumer affairs.
Santosh Kumar Suman of the Hindustani Awam Morcha has been entrusted with the portfolios of SC and ST welfare, along with Information Technology.
Independent MLA Sumit Kumar Singh, known for his steadfast support to the Chief Minister through various political transitions in the last four years, maintains his role in science, technology, and technical education.
