Who Will Be Next CM Of Delhi? From Parvesh Verma To Smriti Irani; Top BJP Contender in Race
After securing a decisive victory in Delhi and dismantling the AAP stronghold, the BJP is now in the process of selecting a new Chief Minister, marking its return to power in the national capital after a 27-year gap. With the political landscape shifting, speculation within the party suggests a shortlist of five potential candidates for the top post, which was once held by Sushma Swaraj. Among the frontrunners are Parvesh Verma, who defeated former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, and Smriti Irani, despite her recent political setbacks.
Parvesh Verma, the son of former Delhi Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma, has significantly strengthened his position within the BJP after his remarkable victory in the New Delhi constituency against Arvind Kejriwal. Recognized and respected by the party's central leadership, Verma's growing political stature has placed him as a strong contender for the Chief Ministerial role.

Another formidable candidate is Vijender Gupta, a seasoned leader in the Delhi BJP, who secured a resounding victory in Rohini. His longstanding loyalty to the party and strategic political expertise further bolster his credentials for the top job.
The legacy of Sushma Swaraj may also influence the BJP's decision-making. Her daughter, Bansuri Swaraj, an MP from New Delhi, is being considered as a potential Chief Ministerial candidate. If chosen, her appointment would symbolize a unique political succession, carrying forward her mother's influential legacy in the capital.
Despite her setback in the Amethi Lok Sabha elections, Smriti Irani remains a name in the mix. Many are keen to see if she could be the surprise pick of the Modi-Amit Shah leadership duo, indicating a fresh leadership approach for the BJP in Delhi.
As the BJP revels in its comeback after nearly three decades, the selection of the new Chief Minister is a crucial decision. The chosen leader will not only define the party's governance strategy in Delhi but also signal the broader vision of the BJP's central leadership moving forward.
