Delhi's rainfall has exceeded the 1,000 mm mark this month, marking the highest since 2021 and the second highest in a decade. Typically, the city receives around 650 mm during the monsoon season, but this September alone, it recorded 125.8 mm-55% above normal. The continuous downpour has also resulted in Delhi's cleanest air quality of the year, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) dropping to 52, the lowest this season.

The heavy rains have led to significant waterlogging, closed underpasses, and traffic jams across Delhi-NCR. Key areas like the Sirhaul border, Rajiv Chowk, and Narsinghpur saw severe traffic congestion. Additionally, Friday's maximum temperature fell to 27.6°C-six degrees below normal-while the IMD forecasts a minimum temperature of 21°C and a high of 32°C for Saturday.
