Virat Kohli's School in Delhi Gets Bomb Hoax Email: Class 5 Student's Unbelievable Reason Stuns Cops

A bomb threat email sent to a school in Paschim Vihar, Delhi, on Thursday prompted immediate action from law enforcement authorities. The incident led to the deployment of multiple security teams and initiated both emergency and cyber investigation protocols. Fortunately, no explosive device was found on the premises.

Police Launch Swift Action After Threat Email

Following the alert, local police dispatched the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDS) and the Anti-Sabotage (AS) unit to the school. Simultaneously, cybercrime officials began gathering technical details associated with the email. A thorough search of the school did not reveal any suspicious objects.

Investigators traced the source of the email through technical analysis. During the IPDR examination, authorities identified the exact email ID, the device used, and the internet connection from which the threat was sent.

Cybercrime Team Traces Hoax to Class 5 Student

Shockingly, the culprit turned out to be a Class 5 student from the same school. Sources said the student admitted to sending the hoax email "with the intention of getting the ongoing assessment cancelled and getting a holiday."

The juvenile has been apprehended, and a forensic examination of the device is underway along with further legal procedures.

Authorities Link Incident to Rising Bomb Threat Trend

Since January 2025, numerous schools and courts across Delhi, Mumbai, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu have received similar email threats. Investigations reveal a consistent pattern: the messages are often sent from anonymised email IDs, routed through encrypted domains, and written in erratic language designed to create panic.

Authorities confirmed that although all such threats have been false, the disruption and fear caused remain considerable. Law enforcement agencies noted that some emails were routed via foreign-based encrypted mail services. Many of these providers, operating under strict privacy laws, have refused to share server logs, complicating ongoing cyber investigations.
