US Embassy In New Delhi Issues Security Alert After Deadly Explosion Near Red Fort

The U.S. Embassy in New Delhi has issued a security alert after a deadly explosion near the Red Fort on November 10, 2025. The blast resulted in at least eight fatalities and numerous injuries. People are advised to avoid the vicinity of the Red Fort and Chandni Chowk, stay away from crowds, and monitor local media for updates.

Authorities have placed several Indian states on high alert following the incident. The explosion occurred near the Lal Quila metro station in central Delhi. Although the cause remains unknown, local reports indicate multiple casualties. The embassy has urged individuals to remain vigilant in tourist areas.

Explosion Details and Casualties

A slow-moving car exploded at a traffic signal close to the Red Fort metro station on Monday evening. This powerful blast claimed at least eight lives and injured around 20 people, including two women. Videos from the scene showed several vehicles engulfed in flames.

The injured were transported to LNJP Hospital, located a few kilometers away from the site. Police revealed that three people were inside the Hyundai i20 car involved in the explosion. A senior police officer mentioned, "The blast occurred in a moving Hyundai i20 car in which three people were sitting."

Investigation Underway

Authorities are investigating all possible angles as no pellets or punctures were found on the injured bodies, which is unusual for such blasts. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the situation with Home Minister Amit Shah and other senior officials.

In response to the tragedy, Prime Minister Modi expressed his condolences: "Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in the blast in Delhi earlier this evening. May the injured recover at the earliest." Assistance is being provided to those affected by authorities.
