UPSC Postpones CSE 2024 Personality Test Dates in Light of Delhi Polls
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has made an adjustment to the timetable for the 2024 Civil Services Examination (CSE) personality test. Initially slated for February 5, 2025, the interview round has now been moved to February 8, just before the Delhi Assembly elections. The change aims to accommodate the electoral schedule, thereby affecting the arrangement for the last phase of the selection process.

Starting from January 7, 2025, the personality test is the conclusive step for candidates vying for positions in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and various central services. Out of the many hopefuls, 2,845 individuals have successfully made it to the interview stage, which will continue until April 17, 2025. This meticulous process highlights the comprehensive nature of the UPSC CSE, known for its challenging selection criteria across three stages: prelims, mains, and the personality interview.
The preliminary examination took place on June 16, 2024, followed by the mains, which were conducted over several days from September 20 to September 29, 2024. Those who excelled in the mains were then called for the interview. For this cycle, the commission has announced its intention to fill 1,056 vacancies across various esteemed services, alongside an additional 150 vacancies in the Indian Forest Service (IFoS). It's noteworthy that the total number of vacancies for this year has seen a marginal reduction when compared to previous years.
Candidates who are part of this rigorous competition are encouraged to visit the official UPSC websites, upsc.gov.in and upsconline.nic.in, for a detailed interview schedule and further information. The UPSC CSE stands as one of the most respected examinations in India, ushering candidates into significant roles within the government and administration sectors.
