Uber rape: Yadav confesses, says he raped many women in the past

New Delhi, Dec 12: He used to wait for women outside malls in Gurgaon specially at night, hoping that they would hire his taxi and would then drive them to a secluded place where he would force them to have sex with him.

This is what Uber cab driver Shiv Kumar Yadav told Delhi Police officials during the interrorgation. Yadav, who was arrested for raping a woman on Dec 5, confessed to the police officials that he had earlier sexually assaulted women and had gotten away with the crime.

Yadav said that he would pick up women, sexually assault them and would lie low for a few days following which he would resurface again. He was aware of the police routines in the area. However he thought that he would escape again this time but tables had turned when the victim texted "I have been raped" and sent the text by mistake to Yadav.

The text panicked Yadav and he decided to flee but before he could do that he was arrested.

A Delhi court had sent the accused into a judicial custody till Dec 24 after being produced by the police on Thursday evening.
