Travis Scott Concert in Delhi Today: Avoid These Roads Around JLN Stadium on Oct 18-19

As Delhi gears up for American rapper Travis Scott's much-anticipated two-day concert at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium starting today, the Delhi Traffic Police have issued a detailed advisory outlining traffic restrictions and diversions across key city routes.

The concert, part of Scott's Circus Maximus World Tour, will be held on October 18 and 19 between 6 pm and 10 pm. With an expected crowd of nearly 50,000 to 60,000 attendees each day, authorities anticipate significant traffic congestion around the venue. The advisory aims to ensure smooth movement and public safety during the event.

Roads to Avoid and Timing of Restrictions

According to the advisory shared on X, commuters are advised to stay away from B P Marg, Lodhi Road, and nearby routes between 4 pm and 10 pm on both concert days. The police have urged residents and motorists to plan their travel accordingly and opt for alternate roads to avoid delays.

"To manage the heavy traffic and ensure public convenience, detailed arrangements have been put in place around JLN Stadium and adjoining roads," the advisory stated.

Key Diversions and Route Changes

To handle the heavy inflow of vehicles, several diversions will be implemented:

• Traffic from B P Marg will be rerouted towards Meharchand Market, while movement from Lodhi Road will not be allowed beyond Pragati Vihar red light.
• Vehicles coming via 5th Avenue Road must take a U-turn near Dhobi Ghat.
• Entry from INA and Thyagraj Stadium towards the JLN Service Road (Gate No. 5) will be restricted.
• No vehicle movement will be permitted from 4th Avenue and Gurjar Chowk towards Barapullah and JLN Service Road during the concert.
• Left turns towards the SCOPE Complex from Lala Lajpat Rai Marg and Jangpura Metro T-point will remain closed, directing traffic towards Lodhi Flyover instead.

Curbs for Heavy Vehicles and Parking Guidelines

Heavy vehicles will not be allowed between JLN Stadium Red Light and B P Marg from 4 pm to 11 pm on both days.

Spectators can access the stadium through Gates 2, 6, 8, 13, 14, and 21, while Gates 1 and 10 will remain reserved for emergency services. Designated parking facilities are arranged at Sewa Nagar and Sunheri Pulla bus depots, and roadside parking near the venue is strictly prohibited. Vehicles parked illegally will be towed immediately.

Public Transport and Emergency Access

Emergency vehicles will be given priority passage but are advised to avoid B P Marg and Lodhi Road to prevent bottlenecks. Commuters heading to airports, hospitals, or railway stations are advised to start early and use alternative routes.

The advisory further stated that adequate signage and police personnel will be deployed to guide motorists. The Delhi Traffic Police also urged citizens to use public transport and follow instructions from traffic officials to ensure a hassle-free experience during the high-profile event.
