Train accident: Modi asks Cabinet Secretary to take stock of situation

— Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) May 26, 2014 Twenty people were feared to be killed when Gorakhdham Express train came on the same track as the freight train near Churen Railway Station. NE Railway sources, however, said that the accident was caused by derailment.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi also expressed condolences over the deaths.
A compensation of Rs 1 lakh was declared for the family of those killed and Rs 50,000 for those seriously injured. A sum of Rs 10,000 will be given to those who sustained minor injuries.
