Talking to J&K separatists not an option for Centre
New Delhi, Sept 10: The union government feels that talking to separatists is not an option. The government says when it comes to the separatists, who have held the Valley to ransom, there is no question of blinking.
"We will engage directly with the people. The idea is to get the youth into the mainstream," the officer also added.

The IB has sent out at least 5 reports since trouble broke out in the Valley. In all its reports, it had stated that the directions to the separatists to continue unrest in the Valley were coming from Pakistan.
In one of the reports it also mentioned that the Hurriyat Conference is only trying to gain relevance and hence is fanning the unrest at the behest of Pakistan.
Highly placed sources tell OneIndia that based on the assessment that has been conducted with the help of observers on the ground and the intelligence bureau, the separatists were not looking for a solution, but attempting to derail the democratically elected government in the state.
The officer points out that in such an event when it is evident that the protests are controlled by Pakistan, will it make any sense in considering the separatists as stakeholders in Kashmir.
These issues take time to resolve. Moreover the situation is gradually improving. We have full compassion for the people and there is a need to distinguish between them and the separatists, the officer said.
The officer also noted that the Modi government will not blink when it comes to the separatists as they have shown no sign of trying to improve the situation.
