Swaraj India president Yogendra Yadav resigns from CSDS

New Delhi, Oct 5: Three days after he announced formation of a new political party, Swaraj India leader Yogendra Yadav today resigned from the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS).

Yadav, who was serving as a CSDS faculty member, was on an extra ordinary leave until March 2017.

"I would like to be relieved with effect from 3rd of October 2016. As you know, activists from all over the country came together on October 2 and formed a political party, Swaraj India. I have been asked to serve as the first President of this party.

"This responsibility requires undivided attention and commitment from me. I am finally doing what I always wanted to do with my life. It is only fair, therefore, that I free myself of any other competing commitment," Yadav said in his resignation letter.
