Party president Rajnath Singh adopted the strategy of talking with leaders individually after Advani and Swaraj expressed their reservation on a decision on Modi's anointment. Swaraj reportedly cancelled her trip after meeting Ananth Kumar and former party chief Nitin Gadkari reached the national capital on Thursday night to meet Rajnath Singh at Singh's residence late in the night. Latest reports said he met Advani ahead of his meeting with the party president.
The RSS, meanwhile, asked Rajnath to go ahead with Modi's anointment.
