Sushma Swaraj underwent kidney transplant from an unrelated donor at the Cardio Thoracic and Neuro Sciences Centre on Dec 10
New Delhi, Dec 19: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who underwent kidney transplant operation on Dec 10 is likely to be discharged from AIIMS on Monday. Doctors at AIIMS said that Swaraj had shown a steady recovery post the surgery.

Swaraj was out of the ICU last week after doctors said that she was recovering fast. Swaraj underwent the kidney transplant from an unrelated donor at the Cardio Thoracic and Neuro Sciences Centre. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Monday tweeted: "Welcome back!! Sushma ji we r very happy to see you being discharged from hospital."

Meanwhile, several praised Swaraj for continuing to work from hospital. While she was admitted, she continued to respond to queries on Twitter and promised to help people in distress.
Swaraj last week was featured in Foreign Policy's 100 Leading Global Thinkers list, for her active role in helping Indians abroad. She was particularly lauded for her role in managing Indian migrant workers in Saudi Arabia who were stranded there without any salaries and wanted to return back.
