War of words: Sheila says Maken was not aggressive during election campaign
New Delhi, Feb 12: Days after Congress faced a disastrous defeat in Delhi assembly elections, former chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Thursday said that 'Ajay Maken was not able to focus on right things.'
Dikshit told reporters that she felt pity for Maken for having lost an opportunity. "I pity Ajay Maken. He lost focus and never took us along," she said.
She added that the Congress' election campaign was not aggressive enough. "Maken was campaign head. Campaign should have been aggressive," Dikshit said.
Meanwhile, Maken reacted to Dikshit's statements and said that he was disappointed with her. He even refuted claims of him quitting the Congress.
This comes after the Congress party failed to get even a single seat in the Delhi assembly elections. Post the defeat, Maken had resigned from the party's General Secretary post.
