Report: BJP likely to form govt in Delhi if invited by Lt Governor

New Delhi, Oct 9: Delhi

President Satish Upadhyay on Wednesday gave hints that BJP in Delhi was likely to take a decision on government formation in a day or two.

Speaking to PTI, Upadhyay said that there will be clarity on the issue within a day or two. "We will be able to take a decision on government formation only after getting an invite from Lt Governor," Upadhyay said.

Upadhyay had earlier met Home Minister Rajnath Singh to discuss the political situation in the capital. Reports suggested that the BJP was ready to form government though a section of leaders was against it.

Meanwhile, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday wondered whether the President had returned file in which Lieutenant Governor had recommended that the BJP should be invited to form the government.

In a tweet Kejriwal said the President had returned the file to the Union Home Ministry, but in the same length asked whether the news was true.

The Delhi BJP is likely to take a call on government formation after the Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections.
