Rain Brings Relief to Delhi-NCR, Breaks Humidity; IMD Issues Yellow Alert
After days of relentless heat and humidity, Delhi-NCR residents finally got some weather relief on Monday morning as light to moderate rainfall lashed parts of the capital overnight. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) placed Delhi under a yellow alert, forecasting more rain over the next two days.
Yellow Alert After Dry Sunday
Despite a yellow alert in place on Sunday, Delhi remained mostly dry, with humid conditions persisting throughout the day. However, residents woke up to refreshing morning showers on Monday, marking a pleasant start to the week.

The maximum temperature recorded on Sunday was 35°C, while the minimum temperature stood at 28.8°C, slightly above normal for this time of year.
Delhi Weather Forecast: What to Expect This Week
The IMD has predicted generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, for Monday and Tuesday in Delhi and NCR. From Wednesday to Sunday, very light to light rainfall is expected across the region.
Temperature Range: The maximum temperature is expected to hover between 32°C and 34°C for the rest of the week, offering respite from the heatwave.
Humidity Relief: Rainfall is expected to bring down humidity levels, making the weather more bearable.
Rainfall Likely in Haryana, UP, Punjab, and Rajasthan
The monsoon has intensified in the northern plains, and neighbouring states like Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Rajasthan are also likely to receive moderate showers over the next 48 hours. While traffic congestion may increase, the cooler weather will be a welcome trade-off.
Delhi Air Quality Today: AQI Remains Satisfactory
In another piece of good news, the air quality in Delhi remained satisfactory on Monday morning. According to the IMD and Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB):
Siri Fort AQI: 90
Lodhi Road AQI: 66
As per CPCB classification:
0-50: Good
51-100: Satisfactory
101-200: Moderate
201-300: Poor
301-400: Very Poor
401-500: Severe
The combination of rainfall and stable air quality has brought a rare moment of relief for Delhiites. With the monsoon gaining momentum, both heat and pollution levels are expected to stay in check - at least for now.
