Rahul Gandhi Ups Ante On Kejriwal With Fresh 'Sheeshmahal' Jibe: 'WagonR Mein Aaye, Sweater Pehne Aur...'
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Sunday ramped up his attack on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief and INDIA bloc ally Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of transitioning from modest beginnings to lavish living.
Speaking at an election rally in Delhi's Hauz Qazi area, Gandhi remarked, "Arvind Kejriwal ji WagonR mein aaye, sweater pehne aur khambe pe chadh gaye. Phir khambe se utre aur seedha sheeshmahal mein chale gaye" (Arvind Kejriwal arrived in a WagonR, wearing a sweater, and climbed up a pole. Then he got down and went straight to sheeshmahal).

The bungalow at 6, Flagstaff Road in New Delhi, where Kejriwal resided during his tenure as Chief Minister, came under scrutiny after the BJP accused him of spending excessively on renovations and luxury fittings, branding it a sheeshmahal (glass palace).
Further in his speech, Rahul Gandhi criticised Kejriwal for failing to fulfil his electoral promises, particularly regarding the cleaning of Delhi's water and the Yamuna River.
"He [Arvind Kejriwal] also promised that he would clean the Yamuna water within five years and would take a dip in it, but it is still dirty. I would ask him to drink it. We will meet in the hospital after that," Gandhi stated, holding up a water bottle that appeared murky and black.
The Congress leader also accused Kejriwal of claiming to champion the cause of the poor while excluding backward and marginalised communities from his core team.
"In 'Team Kejriwal' (an AAP campaign poster for the Delhi Assembly elections), there are nine people. No one from the Dalit, OBC, or Muslim community is there. They form their team, and when riots break out, they disappear. It was Rahul Gandhi who came after the Delhi riots," the Raebareli MP asserted.
