Delhi Elections 2025: Rahul Gandhi Joins Modi, Shah On AAP's 'Dishonest' Poster

Ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February 5, 2025, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has intensified its poster campaign, now featuring Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in a provocative new light.

For the first time, Gandhi's image has appeared alongside top BJP and Congress leaders on an AAP poster, branding him as "dishonest." This inclusion marks a sharp escalation in the ongoing political battle as AAP seeks to highlight what it terms as the failures of its rivals in the lead-up to the elections.

The poster, which carries the bold tagline "Kejriwal's honesty will outweigh all the dishonest people," includes photos of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Delhi BJP leaders. However, Gandhi's addition to this list signals a new chapter in the confrontational dynamics between AAP and Congress, especially after the Congress leader criticized AAP's governance model.

Delhi Elections 2025: Rahul Gandhi's Criticism of Kejriwal

The war of words began earlier this week when Rahul Gandhi criticized Arvind Kejriwal's leadership and governance in Delhi. Gandhi dismissed Kejriwal's administration, claiming that it could not compare to the achievements of the late Sheila Dikshit, the former Congress Chief Minister of Delhi. Gandhi argued that Delhi's residents now yearn for the "real development model" that Dikshit championed, rather than Kejriwal's "false propaganda."

In his attacks, Gandhi further accused Kejriwal of adopting Prime Minister Modi's approach of "propaganda and false promises" without addressing key issues such as rising pollution, inflation, and corruption. He also took aim at both Modi and Kejriwal for allegedly failing marginalized groups, including Dalits and tribals, and depriving them of their due rights.

AAP Responds with Poster War

AAP's decision to feature Rahul Gandhi in its latest poster marks a dramatic shift in the political landscape, especially considering the typically cordial relations between the two parties within the INDIA opposition alliance. The poster now positions Gandhi, along with BJP leaders, as part of a broader campaign to contrast AAP's perceived honesty with the failures of its rivals.

This move is seen as part of AAP's strategy to frame the upcoming Delhi elections as a battle for "honest governance" versus the alleged missteps of both the Congress and BJP. In addition to Gandhi, the poster also features Congress leaders such as Ajay Maken, who had previously referred to Kejriwal as "anti-national," and Sandeep Dikshit, the son of Sheila Dikshit, who is contesting against Kejriwal in the New Delhi constituency.

BJP's Counterattack

Meanwhile, the BJP has also joined the fray with a new poster, accusing the AAP of being filled with "goons and criminals." The party renewed its "AAP-da" (disaster) slogan, calling on the people of Delhi to teach AAP a lesson on February 5. The BJP's rhetoric continues to emphasize AAP's alleged failures in managing the city and its inability to deliver on promises.

A Triangular Fight

As the election day draws closer, the contest has become a triangular battle with AAP, Congress, and the BJP all vying for control. Despite being in alliance at the national level, AAP and Congress are contesting the Delhi elections separately, with AAP dismissing Congress as "irrelevant" to the city's political future. The stage is set for a high-stakes election, with each party seeking to define the narrative of Delhi's governance and its future trajectory.

With just days to go before the February 5 vote, all eyes are on how these provocative campaigns, coupled with rising tensions between the major political parties, will shape the outcome of the Delhi Assembly elections.
