PM Narendra Modi to visit Siachen glacier tomorrow

New Delhi, Aug 11: Prime Minister

will visit the

Glacier, highest battleground in the world on Tuesday during his visit to Kargil and Leh district in Ladakh.

Modi is likely to inaugurate two power projects in the districts.

One day before Modi's visit to the district, Army Chief Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag visited Siachen and had an interaction with the army jawans at Leh and then at the glacier.THis was the army chief first visit here after he took over.

Modi on his visit will conduct an inspection of the forward posts and will also address a gathering of of officers and jawans in Siachen.

Army Chief Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag is likely to accompany Modi during the visit. Around 3000 soldiers have been deployed in Siachen.

This will be Narendra Modi's first visit to Leh and Siachen after he became the Prime Minister.
