PM Modi’s Silence On America-Iran War Is Dangerous Signal For India: Manish Sisodia

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has raised serious concerns over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence on the ongoing war between the United States (US) and Iran, questioning the implications of this stance for India's national interests and energy security. Senior AAP leader and Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia said the Prime Minister's silence sends a dangerous signal at a time when global tensions are escalating and the consequences of the conflict could directly affect India.

Pointing out that the United States had been preparing for the war for months and was fully aware that oil supplies could be disrupted once hostilities began, Manish Sisodia said it is deeply troubling that the US was still able to persuade India through a trade deal not to purchase oil from Russia. He said the country deserves clear answers: was the Prime Minister misled by the US, or did he knowingly compromise India's interests in order to keep the US pleased?

Taking to X, senior AAP leader and Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia stated, "As an Indian citizen today, several extremely serious questions are arising in his mind. Exactly one month ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi entered into a trade deal with the United States. In that deal, one key condition of the United States was accepted that India would not import oil from Russia. India does not produce most of the oil it needs."

He further stated that India purchases a large portion of the oil used every day from foreign countries. "Therefore, shutting down one or two sources is not merely a diplomatic decision. It is directly linked to whether the country's oil supply will remain stable, whether prices will remain under control, and whether the country will have options available in times of crisis. This is what is called energy security," said Manish Sisodia.

Manish Sisodia said that just 20 days after this decision, a war began between the United States and Iran. "The United States government itself is saying that preparations for this war had been going on for several months. This means they already knew that a war was going to happen. They also knew that oil supplies could be affected. Despite this, India was persuaded to give up Russian oil. Now a direct question stands before the country: did the United States mislead India's Prime Minister, or did Narendra Modi himself push India's interests aside in order to keep the United States pleased?" he said.

The senior AAP leader noted the matter does not end there. "Yesterday the United States brought this war almost to India's doorstep. Twenty-four hours have passed, but not a single word has come from the mouth of India's Prime Minister. This silence is not just silence, it is a dangerous signal. What message is going out to the world? That anyone can come and wage a war near India's borders and India's Prime Minister will remain silent? It is natural for such questions to arise. Whose interests does this silence ultimately serve?" said Manish Sisodia.

He further said that Iran had sent its ship to participate in "Milan Exercise 2026" on India's invitation. "In front of the President, the capabilities of that ship were highlighted. That very ship was shot down by the United States. More than 100 people were killed. They were our guests. They had come on India's invitation, yet India's Prime Minister remains silent," said Manish Sisodia.

In conclusion, Manish Sisodia said that history is very unforgiving. "History does not remember leaders for their speeches, but for their decisions and their silences. If things continue like this, the world will remember Narendra Modi as a leader who delivered grand speeches on platforms but bowed before the United States in moments of real crisis. And today the country is also asking how much more India will be made to bend under the pressure of the Epstein file. The country wants to know. The country wants answers," said Manish Sisodia.
