Patparganj Constituency Result 2025: Avadh Ojha Takes On Ravi Negi, Anil Chaudhary - Who'll Win?

Patparganj is one of the closely-fought seats in the Delhi Assembly elections 2025. A key battleground in East Delhi, this seat was once a stronghold of Congress before the AAP wrested it from the grand old party.

Changing Dynamics in Patparganj

Patparganj Constituency Result 2025

In the 2020 elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia secured a hard-fought victory against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Ravi Negi by a narrow margin of just 3,207 votes. However, this time, Sisodia is not contesting from Patparganj. Instead, AAP has fielded Avadh Ojha, a well-known former UPSC exam coach and motivational speaker-turned-politician, hoping to retain the seat in its stronghold.

The constituency, which has a significant number of Poorvanchali and Pahadi voters, has largely supported AAP in recent elections. However, with a new face representing the party, the challenge of maintaining voter trust remains a crucial factor.

BJP and Congress Gearing Up for the Battle

The BJP has once again placed its bet on Ravindra Singh Negi, who had given a tough fight to Sisodia in the previous election. With a narrow loss in 2020, Negi is looking to capitalize on the absence of Sisodia from the race and consolidate his voter base.

On the other hand, the Congress has fielded Anil Chaudhary, a former MLA and the president of the party's Delhi unit. Chaudhary, who has previously represented the constituency, aims to reclaim the seat for the Congress, which has seen a decline in its influence in Delhi over the last decade.

A Constituency with a Rich Electoral History

Patparganj has witnessed a political shift over the years. The seat was won by BJP's Gyand Chand in 1993, followed by Congress's Amrish Singh Gautam in 1998 and 2003. Subsequently, Anil Chaudhary secured a victory for Congress before AAP's Manish Sisodia dominated the seat, winning in 2013, 2015, and 2020.

A Close Contest on the Cards

With the departure of Sisodia from Patparganj, AAP faces a new challenge in defending its seat. While the party enjoys strong support among the Poorvanchali electorate, BJP's Ravi Negi is hoping to bridge the narrow gap from the last election. Meanwhile, Congress is aiming for a comeback with a seasoned candidate in Anil Chaudhary.
