New Delhi Stampede: Police Release Full List of 18 Deceased

A massive crowd thronged the New Delhi railway station late Saturday night, hoping to board trains bound for the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. As they made their way to the platforms, chaos erupted in an unforeseen stampede, turning the night into a nightmare.

At least 18 people, including five children, lost their lives in the tragic incident. Eyewitnesses described the scene as unprecedented, with some stating that help from authorities arrived too late.

Delhi Police have now released the names of those who perished in the stampede. The eldest victim was 79 years old, while the youngest was just seven:

• Lalita Devi, wife of Santosh, resident of Parnia, Bihar - 35 years
• Suruchi, daughter of Manoj Shah, resident of Muzaffarpur, Bihar - 11 years
• Krishna Devi, wife of Vijay Shah, resident of Samastipur, Bihar - 40 years
• Vijay Sah, son of Ram Sarup Sah, resident of Samastipur, Bihar - 15 years
• Neeraj, son of Inderjeet Paswan, resident of Vaishali, Bihar - 12 years
• Shanti Devi, wife of Raj Kumar Manjhi, resident of Nawada, Bihar - 40 years
• Pooja Kumar, daughter of Raj Kumar Manjhi, resident of Nawada, Bihar - 8 years
• Sangeeta Malik, wife of Mohit Malik, resident of Bhiwani, Haryana - 34 years
• Poonam, wife of Virender Singh, resident of Mahavir Enclave - 34 years
• Mamta Jha, wife of Vipin Jha, resident of Nangloi, Delhi - 40 years
• Riya Singh, daughter of Opil Singh, resident of Sagarpur, Delhi - 7 years
• Baby Kumari, daughter of Prabhu Sah, resident of Bijwasan, Delhi - 24 years
• Manoj, son of Panchdev Kushwaha, resident of Nangloi, Delhi - 47 years

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragedy while families mourn their loved ones.
