New Delhi: Police baffled as thieves take off with IVF materials

, Aug 6: In a bizarre heist, thieves in New Delhi stole In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) materials and vials from Moolchand Hospital on Saturday damaging the laboratory and other instruments.

Police have registered an FIR and suspect that this could be the handiwork of someone from withing the hospital. Police said that the thieves took off with vials containing sperms and even equipment and instruments used in the IVF technique.

The incident took place on Saturday and came to light on Sunday after the lab technician, Paritosh Kumar Sarkar noticed that the lab was ransacked and many things were missing.

The police is surprised at the precision of the theft since IVF is a very specific field and the materials and instruments used in this field is not used for any ordinary purpose.

Police are checking the entry and exit register and are also scanning the CCTV footage to identify the culprits.
