Earthquake: Nawaz Sharif calls Narendra Modi, praises India's efforts in Nepal
New Delhi, April 30: Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday called up PM Narendra Modi and offered his condolences for the lives lost due to the earthquake.
Soon after the phone call, Modi tweeted and said that 'Nawaz Sharif appreciated India's efforts in the rescue operations in Nepal.'
Modi said: "PM Nawaz Sharif expressed condolences on the loss of lives in various parts of India due to the Earthquake."

Meanwhile, Modi said that he suggested Sharif that all SAARC nations should join forces and conduct joint relief and rescue operations for those affected by the Nepal earthquake.
Narendra Modi said that he and Nawaz Sharif also discussed about unseasonal rains and the adverse effects it had on the crops.
Many states in India were affected due to the Nepal earthquake including West Bengal, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
