Singh was expelled from the party in Feb 2010 alongwith actress Jaya Prada, who is an MP from Rampur, UP. Singh, who was a close confidante of Mulayam Singh Yadav, had launched his own political party Rastriya Lokmanch to contest the assembly seats in UP in 2012, but the party fared very badly.
