Former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Kapil Mishra, who joined the BJP in 2019, has been entrusted by the party to contest from the Karawal Nagar constituency. He faces a strong challenge from AAP's Manoj Tyagi and Congress' PK Mishra in what is expected to be a closely fought election.

Karawal Nagar is a densely populated area, with a significant population originally hailing from Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. The constituency has over 3.07 lakh registered voters.

The results for Karawal Nagar will be announced on Saturday, February 8, along with the results of the other constituencies in the national capital.

Karawal Nagar Constituency Elections: Past Results (2020 and 2015)

In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, BJP's Mohan Singh Bisht won the seat with 96,721 votes, while AAP's Durgesh Pathak secured 88,498 votes. Congress candidate Arbind Singh received 2,242 votes.

In the 2015 elections, AAP's Kapil Mishra secured victory with 101,865 votes, while BJP's Mohan Singh Bisht received 57,434 votes. Congress' Shaitan Pal Dayma managed to garner 5,362 votes.

Delhi Assembly Elections 2025

The Delhi Assembly elections took place on February 5, with vote counting set for February 8. A total of 699 candidates are in the fray for 70 Assembly seats across the National Capital.

AAP has dominated the last two Assembly elections, securing 67 out of 70 seats in 2015 and 62 seats in 2020. Meanwhile, the BJP won only three and eight seats in these elections, respectively.
