Kalkaji Constituency Result 2025: Atishi vs Ramesh Bidhuri Vs Alka Lamba - Who Will Emerge Victorious?
The battle for the Kalkaji Assembly seat has turned out to be a high-profile contest, with three heavyweight candidates vying for victory. This seat has witnessed an intense electoral battle among the Chief Minister, a party's women's wing president, and a veteran politician.
Kalkaji was a Congress stronghold till the AAP snatched the seat in 2015. However, this time, the fight is expected to be much tougher.

Triangular Fight
The Congress has fielded Alka Lamba, a former AAP leader who now heads the All India Mahila Congress. Her past connection with the AAP has made this an interesting battle.
The BJP, on the other hand, has fielded Ramesh Bidhuri after denying a ticket for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Bidhuri, a two-time MP from South Delhi (2014 and 2019), was replaced by Ramvir Singh Bidhuri in the parliamentary elections.
Meanwhile, AAP is backing its incumbent MLA and Chief Minister Atishi in a bid to retain the seat. She had won the seat in 2020 polls with a margin of 11,000 votes. With Atishi seeking re-election, Alka Lamba making a political comeback, and Ramesh Bidhuri looking to regain lost ground, the contest has turned out to be a fierce three-way fight.
Kalkaji's Political History
Kalkaji, part of the South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, was established in 1993. The BJP's Purnima Sethi won the seat in its inaugural election, but Congress' Subhash Chopra dominated for three consecutive terms until 2013.
In 2013, Shiromani Akali Dal's Harmeet Singh Kalka claimed victory, followed by AAP's Avtar Singh in 2015. Atishi secured the seat for AAP in 2020, continuing the party's hold over the constituency.
Kalkaji is one of 10 Assembly segments under South Delhi, along with Bijwasan, Sangam Vihar, Ambedkar Nagar, Chhatarpur, Deoli, Tughlakabad, Palam, Badarpur, and Mehrauli.
With prominent leaders, shifting party loyalties, and a history of electoral swings, the upcoming election in Kalkaji promises to be a closely watched political battle.
