Jaish-e-Mohammed Link Emerges As ₹20 Lakh Fund Trail Exposed In Red Fort Blast Case
Investigators probing the Red Fort car blast have uncovered a significant financial trail, revealing that ₹20 lakh was routed to three doctors - Umar, Muzammil, and Shaheen - believed to be connected to the conspiracy. Intelligence inputs indicate that a Jaish-e-Mohammed handler used hawala channels to transfer the funds. Officials also confirmed that about ₹3 lakh from this amount was spent on purchasing fertilizer used in the explosives. The probe has now been officially transferred to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
Sources revealed that disagreements reportedly arose between Dr. Umar-un-Nabi and Dr. Shaheen over the management of the funds. Investigators were able to connect several crucial financial links based on information extracted from Muzammil.

In a parallel development, Delhi Police confirmed on Sunday that three cartridges recovered from the blast site-two live and one spent-were of 9mm calibre, a prohibited-bore ammunition type reserved for security forces or individuals with special permits. Officers stated that although the cartridges were found, no firearm or its components were recovered from the location. Authorities are now examining how these cartridges reached the spot and whether they were in the possession of the suspect.
The presence of 9mm ammunition has added another layer to the investigation as teams analyze CCTV footage and continue to gather forensic evidence. The November 10 explosion near the Red Fort killed 12 people and injured several others.
On Saturday, Delhi Police filed a fresh FIR under criminal conspiracy sections as part of the ongoing investigation. Security has been tightened around the Red Fort, with authorities maintaining strict monitoring of all entry points and nearby areas.
On Friday, the National Medical Commission (NMC) cancelled the registrations of four Jammu and Kashmir-based doctors-Dr. Muzaffar Ahmad, Dr. Adeel Ahmad Rather, Dr. Muzamil Shakeel, and Dr. Shaheen Saeed-in the Indian Medical Register/National Medical Register, effective November 14, 2025. All State Medical Councils have been notified. Delhi Police have already arrested Dr. Adeel Ahmad Rather, Dr. Muzamil Shakeel, and Dr. Shaheen Saeed for alleged links to previous terror-related activities.
Investigating agencies also disclosed that around eight suspects were preparing coordinated explosions across four locations, with each pair tasked to strike a different city. Early findings suggest they intended to carry multiple improvised explosive devices (IEDs) for simultaneous attacks.
Police confirmed through DNA analysis that the suicide bomber driving the Hyundai i20 was Dr. Umar Un Nabi, after matching his sample with his mother's. Al-Falah University has issued a statement distancing itself from Dr. Umar and Dr. Muzammil, clarifying that no unauthorized chemicals or materials are used or stored on campus.
Forensic teams have collected DNA, explosive residues, and other evidence for examination.
Meanwhile, an accidental blast at the Nowgam Police Station late Friday night killed nine personnel and injured 32 others. According to the Jammu and Kashmir DGP, the explosion occurred during an ongoing investigation related to FIR 162 of 2025, which stemmed from the major seizure of explosives, chemicals, and reagents recovered in Faridabad on November 9 and 10.
