Irresponsible, Anarchic Behaviour: BJP On AAP Standoff With Police
BJP National Spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi on Wednesday criticized Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders for their clash with police outside the Delhi Chief Minister's residence on Wednesday, calling it a "clear display of anarchy."
The incident unfolded as AAP leaders, including Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj and MP Sanjay Singh, marched to the CM's bungalow to counter BJP's allegations about the so-called "Sheesh Mahal," a term the BJP uses to describe the Chief Minister's residence. The BJP has accused the AAP of lavish spending on the property, alleging features like swimming pools and a golden commode.

Sudhanshu Trivedi remarked, "The reality of this monument of corruption is now before the people. Today's actions by AAP leaders Sanjay Singh and Saurabh Bharadwaj are nothing short of anarchy. No matter what theatrics they perform, they cannot save Arvind Kejriwal's so-called museum of corruption, the 'Sheesh Mahal.'"
Trivedi further added, "This is a glaring example of their irresponsible, insane, and anarchic behavior."
Heated Confrontation with Police
Denied entry into the CM's residence by police, Bharadwaj and Singh staged a sit-in outside the bungalow, arguing heatedly with the officers. Speaking to reporters, the duo questioned why they needed permission to enter the Chief Minister's residence.
"I am a minister and here for an inspection. How can you stop me? Have you received orders from the Lieutenant Governor?" Bharadwaj was heard asking a police official.
BJP's Counterattack
As the standoff continued, the BJP's Delhi unit shared a video of the CM's residence on social media, calling it "the glass palace of corruption."
"The dirty secrets of Kejriwal's opulent palace are now out in the open. Delhiites have realized the truth about this so-called common man who is nothing but a power-hungry impostor," read the BJP's post on X.
AAP's Rebuttal
The AAP leaders' march was intended to refute the BJP's allegations and inspect the residence, but their denial of entry escalated the political row.
With the Delhi Assembly polls slated for February 5 and counting scheduled on February 8, the confrontation has added fuel to the heated political rivalry between the BJP and AAP.
