Intelligence Bureau Shares List Of 5000 Pakistani Nationals With Delhi Police For Verification And Deportation

After their visas were revoked, the Intelligence Bureau (IB) gave the Delhi Police a list of some 5,000 Pakistani citizens living in the nation's capital. This action follows the central government's instruction for all Pakistani nationals to return home following the recent terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir.

A special division of the Delhi Police has been given access to the list, which was put together by the Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO), in order to confirm and identify the individuals involved. Hindu Pakistani nationals on Long Term Visas (LTVs), who are not subject to the order, are also on the list.

According to a top official, these individuals have been told to return to Pakistan after the list was given to the relevant district for verification. Notably, there are more Pakistani citizens in Delhi's Central and North East districts.

The person added that the Delhi Police had been ordered to act immediately and that a conference had been called to discuss the matter. To guarantee compliance, senior authorities are keeping an eye on the issue.

The Delhi Police's special branch, working with the Intelligence Bureau, has been entrusted with obtaining information about these Pakistani nationals and making sure they leave India as soon as possible. One officer claims that there are two distinct groupings on the list: one with 2,000 names and the other with 3,000. Since other people may have already departed, more verification is necessary because some names overlap.

With the exception of long-term, diplomatic, and medical visas, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said on Friday that it would cancel Pakistani nationals' visas with effect from April 27, 2025. Medical visas will continue to be valid until April 29, 2025, the MHA explained. The permanent visas given to Hindu Pakistani nationals, however, will remain in effect.

According to reports, there are between 600-700 Pakistani nationals living near Signature Bridge and about 900 living close to Majnu Ka Tila.
