In Delhi, Alcohol Available, But No Water: PM Modi Attacks AAP During Interaction With Grassroot Workers
Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged with BJP booth-level workers on Wednesday at a video conference under the "Mera Booth Sabse Majboot" initiative. This interaction aimed to energise the party's cadre ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections on February 5.
Modi highlighted the importance of grassroots efforts, citing the BJP's success in securing all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi as evidence of their organisational strength.

During his address, PM Modi urged BJP workers to draw a clear contrast between the BJP's governance and the alleged failures of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He specifically mentioned the excise policy scandal and accused AAP of not fulfilling its promises to Delhi's citizens. Modi emphasised that public discontent, especially among women voters, indicated a desire for change.
"Mera Booth Sabse Majboot is not just a programme, it is the lifeblood of our organisational strength and the mantra that drives our expansion," the IANS quoted PM Modi as saying.
BJP's Strategic Focus
The Prime Minister also stressed the need to inspire young voters and ensure high voter turnout despite cold weather conditions. He set ambitious targets for the upcoming elections, aiming for record voter participation and securing over 50% of votes at each booth. Modi interacted with select booth workers during the session, discussing strategies and gauging voter sentiments.
Modi criticised AAP for neglecting basic issues like clean drinking water and hesitating to implement Central government schemes such as Ayushman Bharat, which provides health insurance to underprivileged individuals. He also addressed the pollution problem in the Yamuna River, accusing AAP of failing to clean it despite previous promises.
When a BJP Booth President from Model Town claimed that people in many areas don't have access to clean drinking water, PM Modi said, "So, alcohol is available, but clean water is not?" PM Modi said.
"The problem of dirty drinking water persists in Delhi. Today, water and tanker mafia are flourishing and the people of Delhi are forced to drink contaminated drinking water...AAPda is not concerned about this," PM Modi added.
Digital Platforms and Key Participants
The Prime Minister underscored using digital platforms to expose AAP's unfulfilled promises by sharing relevant videos with voters. The event saw participation from key BJP figures, including Delhi election in-charge Baijayant Panda, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, along with other MPs, MLAs, and councillors.
The "Mera Booth Sabse Majboot" programme is a strategic effort by BJP to strengthen its grassroots presence. It aims to ensure that voters are well-informed about the party's achievements and vision for Delhi. With Assembly elections approaching, PM Modi's address has significantly boosted BJP cadre morale.
The electoral battle is expected to be closely contested as voting is scheduled for February 5. The results will be announced on February 8. This initiative highlights BJP's commitment to engaging with its base and addressing key issues affecting Delhi residents.
