'I Am Killing Your Sister': SWAT Commando Kajal's Hubby Threatened Her Brother Before Murder

These terrifying words echoed through the phone on the night of January 22, leaving Delhi constable Nikhil Chaudhary frozen in horror. His brother-in-law, Ankur, a clerk posted in the Ministry of Defence at Delhi Cantonment, was on the other end of the call. At that very moment, Ankur was brutally assaulting Nikhil's sister, Kajal Chaudhary, a 27-year-old commando with the Delhi Police Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit.

Nikhil recalls that Ankur had first called him angrily, demanding that he "make his sister understand." Kajal, who usually kept her troubles to herself, had finally begun sharing her ordeal with her brother that night. But before she could say much, Ankur snatched the phone from her and delivered the chilling threat. "Record this call, it will serve as police evidence. I am killing your sister. Police can't touch me," he declared. Moments later, Nikhil heard Kajal's screams before the line went dead.

Within minutes, Ankur called again. This time his words were blunt: "She is dead. Come to the hospital." Nikhil rushed with fellow officers, only to find his sister lifeless, her body bearing injuries that spoke of unimaginable violence. "Not even an enemy kills someone like this," he said, his voice breaking.

Dowry Harassment and Domestic Violence

Behind this shocking crime lay a long trail of harassment and dowry demands. Kajal's parents allege that despite giving expensive gifts at the wedding-including a Bullet motorcycle, gold jewellery, and cash-the demands never ceased. "They said our son would have received a car if he had married elsewhere. Later, my daughter even arranged a car, but they continued to torment her," her father Rakesh recounted.

Kajal's mother added that her daughter had taken loans to support her in-laws, while Ankur himself borrowed money from her parents. The harassment reportedly came not only from Ankur but also from his mother and two sisters.

According to the FIR, the assault took place between 10 and 10:30 pm at their rented home in Mohan Garden Extension, West Delhi. Kajal, four months pregnant, was struck on the head with a heavy dumbbell. Her family alleges she suffered multiple injuries across her body. She was rushed to a hospital in Ghaziabad but succumbed to her injuries on January 27.
Ankur was arrested soon after, and a case of murder was registered.

A Child Left Behind

The couple's one-and-a-half-year-old son now lives with Kajal's maternal grandparents. "He doesn't know what happened. We will raise him ourselves and tell him the truth only when he is mature enough," Nikhil said.

Not the First Assault

This was not the first time Kajal faced violence. Nikhil recalled visiting her five months earlier after Ankur had slapped her. Though Ankur apologised and swore on his child that he would never repeat it, the abuse continued. Even during pregnancy, Kajal was allegedly forced to cook, wash clothes, and manage household chores after returning from her demanding police duty.

A Love Story Turned Tragic

Kajal and Ankur's relationship had begun in college at Panipat. They married in November 2023, hoping to build a life together. But frequent disputes at their native home in Ganaur, Haryana, pushed them to move into a rented house in Mohan Garden in December 2024. Sadly, the tensions followed them, culminating in a crime that has shocked the nation.
