Haryana: Pregnant Delhi Teen Killed By Boyfriend Over Marriage Pressure, Body Dumped In Pit

Two men have been arrested for allegedly murdering a 19-year-old pregnant woman and burying her body in a pit in an abandoned area in Haryana, officials reported on Friday.

According to the initial investigation, three individuals-Sanju, aka Saleem, Pankaj, and Ritik-were involved in the crime.

While Sanju and Pankaj have been detained and have confessed to the murder, a search is ongoing for Ritik. The victim was reportedly in a relationship with Sanju and had been urging him to marry her.

The incident came to light after Delhi Police received a complaint from the victim's brother on 22 October, reporting her missing. He suspected that a recent acquaintance of his sister's might have been involved in her disappearance.

Following this, several police teams were assigned to investigate. It was soon found that her phone was switched off.

The arrested suspects revealed during interrogation that they had rented a car on 21 October and brought the victim along with some of her belongings.

Investigators believe the woman wanted to marry Sanju, but he kept delaying, leading to tension between them.

On the day of Karwa Chauth, while she was observing a fast, the two allegedly argued, and they eventually decided to meet.

After the dispute, Sanju reportedly asked his friends, Pankaj and Ritik, to arrange a car for a long drive.

The group set off towards Rohtak in Haryana, where they killed the young woman and buried her body in a four-foot-deep pit in an abandoned area in the village of Madina in Rohtak district. Police later recovered the woman's body from the site.

Authorities are currently searching for Ritik, the third suspect in the case, while sources indicate that some family members are also claiming that the victim was pregnant.
