Greater Kailash Assembly Constituency

The Greater Kailash Assembly constituency, part of the New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, was formed in 2008. Renowned as one of Delhi's most affluent areas, the seat is less influenced by caste-based voting and is instead driven by issue-based electoral choices.

The constituency has a significant population of Punjabis, Bengalis, and Vaishyas, alongside prominent business hubs, shopping centres, educational institutions, and residential areas such as Panchsheel Enclave, Panchsheel Park, Greater Kailash Part 1 and 2, and Sheikh Sarai.

In the 2020 elections, the constituency had 180,653 registered voters, with a voter turnout of 60 per cent (108,548 voters).

Key Candidates in 2025

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP): The party has once again nominated its sitting MLA, Saurabh Bhardwaj, a senior leader and minister in the Delhi government.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP): The BJP has placed its trust in Shikha Rai, who previously contested from this seat in 2020.

Congress: Congress has nominated Garvit Singhvi in an effort to regain its influence in the constituency.

Demographic Profile of Greater Kailash

Greater Kailash is a politically and economically significant constituency, known for its mix of affluent and middle-class residents. Considered a BJP stronghold, it is home to a cosmopolitan electorate comprising traders, professionals, and salaried individuals. The Muslim and Jat voter base could play a crucial role in shaping the electoral outcome.

The constituency includes a variety of neighbourhoods, including Asiad Village Complex, Shahpur Jat, Greater Kailash 1, Zamrudpur, East of Kailash, Kailash Colony, Sant Nagar, Panchsheel Park, Panchsheel Enclave, Masjid Moth, Krishi Vihar, Pamposh Enclave, Chirag Enclave, Savitri Nagar, Sheikh Sarai, Khirki Extension, C.R.
