From Banks To Schools, Know What's Open And What's Closed On Delhi Polling Day, Feb 5
Delhi is set to cast vote and elect representatives for 70 assembly seats. The polling for Delhi Assembly Elections 2025, will take place amid heightened security on February 5, 2025. This significant day will see a halt in the routine operation of several services, including government offices and banks. To ensure a high voter turnout, the Election Commission has declared an official holiday on February 5, 2025.
What's Open And What's Close on February 5?

As per the Election Commission's guidelines, liquor stores throughout Delhi will be closed from February 3 till February 5 evening. Most of the banks will also remain closed.
A holiday has been declared for educational institutes including Government and private schools and colleges as many places have been set as polling stations. This closure is crucial for facilitating the smooth conduct of the elections.
Transportation services like Delhi metro and DTC busses will start their operation from early morning. In addition to that, essential services like hospitals and pharmacies will remain operational to cater to the needs of Delhi's residents. Similarly, retail outlets, including shops, restaurants, and grocery stores, will also be open, ensuring that daily life is minimally disrupted on election day.
This measure is part of the efforts to maintain order and decorum during the election period.
The polling is slated for February 5, 7am to 6pm, and counting of votes will take place on February 8, 2025.
