Delhi Welcomes Early Summer! Temperature Likely To Shoot 3 To 5 Degrees

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a noticeable rise in temperatures across northwest India, with an increase of 3 to 5 degrees Celsius anticipated by April 2. This uptick is expected to push the region toward the early stages of summer heat. In contrast, the past few days have seen Delhi and its surrounding areas enjoy refreshingly cool weather, thanks to a wave of cool winds from the north.

The temperature in Delhi ranged from 16 to 18 degrees Celsius in the mornings, with the maximum reaching up to 34 degrees under clear skies. Winds were recorded blowing at speeds of 10-20 kmph. Despite the pleasant start, the IMD has not predicted a heatwave for the capital until April 5. However, it has issued warnings for isolated heatwave conditions in Saurashtra and Kutch on the last day of March and the first day of April.

Delhi weather report

In the coming days, Delhi is expected to witness clear skies, with daytime temperatures forecasted to range between 33 and 36 degrees Celsius on April 1 and 2. This suggests a return to warmer weather, indicating the end of the brief respite from the heat. Meanwhile, other parts of India are preparing for varied weather phenomena.

Thunderstorms and Rainfall Across India

Regions such as Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha are bracing for a combination of thunderstorms and hailstorms over the next four to five days. This unsettled weather is in stark contrast to northwest India, which is currently not expected to experience any major weather systems. Additionally, Rajasthan is forecasted to see overcast conditions and light rainfall in several areas, with some southeastern districts remaining cloudy until April 3. Light showers accompanied by thundershowers are anticipated in parts of Udaipur and Kota divisions on Wednesday, spreading to Jaipur, Ajmer, and Kota by April 3.

Take a Poll

Temperatures across Rajasthan are set to soar, with the IMD predicting a rise of 4 to 6 degrees in the minimum and maximum temperatures over the coming days. Barmer, in particular, recorded the state's highest temperature at 37.4 degrees Celsius, while Sikar experienced the coolest weather with a minimum temperature of 10 degrees.
