Delhi Weather: Yellow Alert Issued as Western Disturbance Brings Rain, Strong Winds

Looks like Delhi is in for a messy Tuesday! The weather folks (IMD) put out a yellow alert for the city. Think rain and some pretty strong winds all day long because of this big weather thing up north.

Temperatures will probably be pretty low, maybe around 19 degrees tops and dipping to 9 degrees at night, so it's gonna be cold. Plus, it's supposed to be super humid, which will just make everything feel worse.

And the air? Still not good. At 7:30 this morning, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was 281, which means poor. So, get ready for yucky air and crummy weather.

The IMD says this crazy weather is part of a bigger system hitting the Himalayas and the areas around them. It's bringing rain, snow, and thunderstorms to North India while we're celebrating Republic Day.

Apparently, this system already messed with the winds in Delhi. After a weekend of clear skies and freezing winds, the temperatures dropped a lot. But as this western thing got closer on Monday, the wind died down, which means the weather was about to change.

The IMD says this big weather system will bring some rain and snow to the Himalayas on January 27th and 28th. There might even be some heavy rain or snow and hailstorms on the 27th. And the areas next to the Himalayas might get some rain too, with thunderstorms, hailstorms, and winds around 40 to 50 kmph, maybe even gusting to 60 kmph.

So, for Tuesday, January 27th, expect rain or thunderstorms in Delhi with strong winds. The humidity will make it feel even colder. The low will be around 9 degrees, and the high around 19.

Starting January 28th, fog will probably be a big deal. There might be some pretty thick fog in the mornings, making it hard to see. The low might go up a little to 12 degrees, and the high might be around 18.

The fog should stick around on January 29th, especially in the early morning. The low will probably drop back down to 9 degrees, with the high staying around 18, so it'll be cool and damp during the day.

More fog is expected on January 30th, mostly in the morning, which could mess with traffic. Temperatures should be between 9 degrees in the morning and 19 degrees later on.

By January 31st, there will probably still be fog in the morning, but it might get better later in the day. The low should stay around 9 degrees, and the high might go up to 20, which is a bit of an improvement.

This crazy weather comes after Delhi had its coldest Republic Day in five years. The main weather station recorded a low of 4.2 degrees on Monday, which is way colder than usual for this time of year. It was 6.6 degrees on Sunday and 7.6 degrees on Saturday, so it's been pretty cold recently.

With bad air, fog, rain, and cold temperatures all week, it's going to be tough for people in Delhi. The daytime temperatures might get a little better by February, but the mornings will still be cold and foggy, and the visibility will keep changing because of this weather system.
