Delhi Weather Update: IMD Warns Of Heavy Rain, Hailstorms
The latest weather forecast from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts heavy rain and thunderstorms in parts of Delhi and nearby cities on Friday evening, lasting for 1-2 hours. Gusty winds and isolated rainfall are expected in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, and surrounding areas starting from 6 pm onwards.
For Delhi NCR, the IMD forecasts light to moderate rain in the evening, intensifying to heavy rain later. Hailstorms and precipitation are also expected in Delhi and adjoining cities on March 29.

IMD tweeted, "Thunderstorms with light to moderate intensity rain and heavy intensity rain over isolated places, along with gusty winds of 40-60 Km/h, are expected in Delhi and NCR and adjoining areas (Loni Dehat, Hindon AF Station, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula, Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar, Ballabhgarh) Sohana, Palwal, Nuh (Haryana) Bhiwari (Rajasthan) in the next 2 hours."
The weather agency also mentioned the likelihood of hailstorms and precipitation in a few areas of Delhi (Kanjhawala, Mundaka, Jafarpur, Nazafgarh, Deramandi), NCR (Bahadurgarh, Gurugram, Manesar) Sohana (Haryana) Bhiwari (Rajasthan) in the next 1 hour.
IMD scientists noted abnormal temperatures in northwest India, likely influenced by the Western disturbance. Besides Delhi and NCR, Jammu and Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh are expected to experience heavy rainfall, with adjoining plains receiving light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, and possibly hailstorms.
Regarding other regions, an IMD official forecasted heat wave conditions in Maharashtra and nearby areas, while Madhya Pradesh is expected to experience dry weather for the next two days.
